Print isn’t dead…it’s just evolving
Millions of people across the county and around the world are reading about rural Nebraska thanks to The Better Half, a collaboration between the Omaha World-Herald and Nebraska Community Foundation, a community development nonprofit based in Lincoln. The series features both articles by OWH journalists and NCF staff that lift up Nebraska’s best kept secrets, including a network of 1,500 volunteers that dedicate their time, talent and treasure to making their hometowns even better places to live, work and play.
In total, the collaboration has resulted in nearly 43 million impressions, not to mention numerous new opportunities and partnerships for NCF, including a similar collaboration with Norfolk Daily News focusing on Northeast Nebraska.
On March 16, Reggi Carlson and Carrie Malek-Madani of Nebraska Community Foundation will discuss how NCF is utilizing print publications and branded storytelling to introduce itself to new audiences (and prospective donors) all across the state.
Reggi Carlson has worked for the past 10 years for Nebraska Community Foundation in marketing, communications and fundraising. She has served similar capacities in a number of non-profit organizations in Nebraska, including NET Television, Girl Scouts, and several arts and community development organizations in Lincoln.
Carrie Malek-Madani has worked at Nebraska Community Foundation for just over a year as Director of Marketing & Communications. Prior to NCF, she worked at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and S&S Public Relations representing clients in a wide variety of industries, from high tech, to high fashion.
